Hamilton County Courthouse On The Square

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this French Renaissance structure served as the county courthouse from 1878 to 1992.  FREE  Mon.-Fri. 8 am - 4:30 pm.  (317) 776-9600

 

It was as widely known in 1925 as the OJ Simpson trial was in 1994.  Grand Dragon Clansman, D.C. Stephenson murder trial took the nation's center stage.  Presiding orignially, Fred Hines.  Judge Hines stepped away from the limelight & trial for reasons unknown at that time.  The historical record reflects his friends were shocked he stepped down, as it could have put him in front of a nation.  Resident Vic & Margie Zinn's two daguthers, Susie Zinn Crandall & Sally Zinn Knopp discovered Judge Hines KKK card in the attic of their home (once the Judge's home) on Logan Street.  See his court room, and where the 'trial of the century' in the muder of Madge Olberholtzer, took place.

Historic Potter's Bridge

Potter's Bridge Park features the only remaining covered bridge in Hamilton County, and is surrounded by a 66-acre park. Constructed between 1870-1871 by Josiah Durfee, and restored in 1999, the bridge serves as the centerpiece of Potter's Bridge Park. The bridge boasts beautiful views of the White River and is a great place to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. The park also contains the White River Greenway Trail, which spans 3.25 miles along the White River through Forest Park and on to either downtown Noblesville or Morse Park and Beach.

Forest Park & Aquatic Center

Forest Park has much to offer, baseball, picnic area, skateboarding, tennis, play area, putt-putt, carousel , 9 hole golf, hiking trail & bike paths.  Also featured is the Aquatic Center. This facility features a heated 50-meter-ten lane pool, a separate diving well with 1-meter and 3-meter spring boards and the "Big Al" diving tower, featuring 5, 7, and 10 meter platforms. The 50-meter pool also features our magnificent waterslide "Fast Freddie".  Also included is the infant and toddler activity pool. This new activity pool features "Leapin’ Lizzie" the pink frog slide, geysers, the wall of water, large umbrellas, and convenient zero depth entry.
